From Cannes: Bong Joon-ho's Mother

Here are the first impressions after the 1st press screening this afternoon of Bong Joon-ho’s lastest film, Motherwatch the trailer w/ english subs.

@filmshowing> Interesting… Park Chan-wook and Bong Joon-ho have traded places – Joon-ho’s film Mother feels much more like a Chan-wook film.

@Julien_Welter>Mother disappoints but no need to criticize Bong (Joon-ho), he’s still a great director.

@inro> MOTHER was good. Another strong Bong Joon-Ho film. Park chan-wook could learn a thing or two from Bong…

@gemko> Mother (’09 Bong): 65/B. A bit one-note, but that note gets increasingly and awesomely discordant as it goes along. Great title perf.

@insidecannes>Bong Joon-ho’s Mother is an incredible thriller, memories of murder’s director should have been selected for the official competition.

Stay tuned, there’s another screening tonight, and reviews will come tomorrow!

I am really looking forward to “Mother.”

If you like Joon-Ho, you HAVE to check out Tokyo!

I can’t wait for the dvd.

I think it comes out June 30 (www.tokyothemovie.com).
I preordered it on Amazon, through the site. I can’t wait.
Better that NY Stories. Best tryptich since Amorres Perroes.

Yeah, thought Bong Joon-ho’s segment was the best. Merde is clearly a piece of shit, and something’s missing in Gondry’s.
