What the…?! After Hitoshi Matsumoto’s films, here’s a new crazy gem from Japan?
Milocrorze is divided into several stories; a childlike man, a counselor & a one-eyed ronin, all trying to find true love and happiness. Simple but perfect to develop some surprising and creative visual ideas, playing with different genres & time. For example, the slow-motion fight – a glimpse can be seen in this teaser, or the fact that actor Takayuki Yamada (13 Assassins) is playing 3 different roles here.
As for director Yoshimasa Ishibashi, he’s made some weird & original comedy TV shows like Vermilion Pleasure Night, The Fuccons… Watch the clips below to give you an idea about his type of humour, and the level of his imagination. Will be interesting to see if the change of format will benefit Ishibashi’s craziness. FYI, he spent 5 years working on this project, trying to imagine original visuals, where music & sceneries have an important role (check this 13-min Q&A session).
No release date yet. But at the moment, Milocrorze is screened in festivals around the world.
