The Art Theater Guild produced some of the most insane japanese indie films, letting talented directors create visually astonishing works that tackle taboos. But, these films are still hard to catch, even though some of them have been english-fansubbed over the past few years. About the ATG.
So, from June 7th to July 23rd, the Japan Foundation in Paris will be screening over 40 ATG films. Most are french-subbed screenings (“vostf”), but around 10 titles will only be watchable with english subs (“vosta”). The full schedule;
