dGenerate Films conducted a poll where 47 experts from around the world where asked to vote for the best chinese films of the decade. The results list includes mainly festival & indie-oriented films/directors. For example, Red Cliff received only 1 vote (!).

Collective list often end in this kind of academic & undaring selection. Individual list are a far more interesting approach … there’s quite a lot of lesser-known works being quoted!

Jia Zhang-ke fustige allègrement nombre de ses contemporains avec une telle présence…
Je n’ai pas encore eu l’occasion de découvrir l’oeuvre Oxhide de Liu Jiayin. J’en ai pourtant pas mal entendu parler. A ce que j’en ai compris aussi, il existerait également Oxhide 2. Quelqu’un aurait-il vu l’un de ses films ? Si, oui qu’est-ce que vous en pensez ?

Oxhide2 fait quand même un peu peur sur le papier^^
Une table ; un dîner de bouchées ; une famille de trois personnes.
Neuf scènes tournées autour de la table, entre chaque scène, 45 degrés.
132 minutes en temps réel.
Voilà le sujet de Oxhide II.
La réalisatrice et ses parents jouent les trois personnages.
Il n’y a pas de quatrième personnage, à part les chats.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. In the Mood for Love is Cantonese Chinese. The director Wong Kar Wai is Chinese born, Shanghai, in fact. You probably saw this on some korean-dubbed pirated dvd rented from some korean supermarket. Check the facts first before making an idiot of yourself.
