Strange. The new Go Shibata film looks really strange. Starting with the international english title; Doman Seman (in jap it’s Horikawa Nakatachiuri). As for the plot, Ryuganji found some info and translated them. It gives:
Freeloader Shinsuke meets homeless Tsutomu & gets caught up in strange events when a battle erupts between supernatural beings
And because it’s not WTF enough, watch these short clips from the shooting, but don’t expect usual making-of stuff, they tried things:
Doman Seman is the only japanese pic in competition at the TOKYO FILMeX this November. And by the way, their annual retrospective is dedicated to the “Nippon Modern: 1930s“, featuring lots of old Shochiku productions.
