Got my hands on the first Wakamatsu boxset coming out on Oct 6th in France. Knowing these films should be released elsewhere later, let’s do a DVD comparison between the japanese discs (TOP) & the french ones (BOTTOM):
• Go Go Second Time Virgin! – Va Va Vierge pour la 2ème Fois

• Secrets Behind the Wall – Les Secrets derrière le mur

• Violated Angels – Les Anges Violés

• Embryo Hunts in Secret – L’Embryon part braconner

!!Attention!! Prefaces are more like short analysis, it contains spoilers. It’s well-written texts read by monotonous voices. Interesting though.
By the way, you can buy the boxset for 40€ until Sept 30. Check Blaq Out website!
The second boxset should be ready for a February 2010 release.

Thanks. Do you know if the French discs are native PAL or conversion jobs. Perhaps you could compare the running times?
For example; Secrets Behind the Walls: R2J = 1h15min34sec / R2FR = 1h15min19sec
To be more specific, if it can help, they say it’s PAL made from NTSC HD masters.
>monotonous voices
The Violated Angels extra is good stuff for insomniac
Thanks Michael.
I’m not an expert with these things, but PAL from NTSC HD master really sounds like a pretty way to say it’s a normal strandards conversion…
It’s great these films are being released outside Japan and for reasonable prices, but personally for collecting purposes I think I’d still go for the R2J’s.
Cool. Bonne nouvelle. J’ai hâte de me le procurer.
Not much difference and the franch box set looks perhaps more proper with no small transparent lines at the bottom. Is it me or the japanese dvd de Secrets derriere les murs wasnt completely black and white ? Otherwise I hope the translation is good and it will be okay for me. Thank you for this article !
If you don’t want the french Wakamatsu boxset, each films can be bought individually on Blaq Out website for 15e. That way, no reason to miss Go go Second Time Virgin!
