What kind of movie have a title like that? Obviously a crazy one. Directed by Shuji Terayama, produced by the Art Theater Guild, Throw away… wants to break every moral values of his time. Not really an experimental and intellectual (boring) type-like film. It’s so full of life and ideas with a lot of WTF-scenes. Try it, now!

sayonara eiga – good bye movies
Still pretty experimental nevertheless but very watchable, with many moving moments, and a lovely finale. Also a great score (available her apparently) that I kept listening to on my mp3 while biking away on and around the banks of the Kamo river in Kyoto.
This guy’s still pretty popular in art schools and among the aging leftist, but mainly for his theater plays for and I assume his political stance for the latter.
I’m not sure why i brought a copy of this DVD with me on my trip, but I ennded being considered like a hero by a painting graduate (and lolita girl) who really wanted to see this.
those were the days…
